Article Processing Charge (APC)

GENCARE: Journal of Community Service in Health is an open-access journal. All articles published in GENCARE are freely available online without subscription fees or paywall restrictions, allowing readers worldwide to read, download, share, and use scholarly content in accordance with the journal's open-access license.

To support the sustainability of editorial and publication activities, including manuscript processing, peer-review administration, copyediting, proofreading, layout preparation, DOI registration, digital archiving, website maintenance, and online publication, GENCARE applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) as described below.

APC Policy

  • Indonesian author(s): IDR 150,000 per accepted manuscript
  • International (non-Indonesian) author(s): No charge

The APC is payable only after the manuscript has been formally accepted for publication following the editorial assessment and peer-review process.

GENCARE does not charge any submission fee. Authors are not required to make any payment when submitting a manuscript or while the manuscript is undergoing initial editorial screening and peer review.

Payment instructions will be communicated directly to the corresponding author through the journal's official communication channel after an official acceptance decision has been issued.

What the APC Supports

The Article Processing Charge contributes to the operational costs associated with maintaining a professional and sustainable scholarly publishing process, including:

  • Editorial and manuscript management
  • Peer-review administration
  • Copyediting and proofreading
  • Article layout and production
  • DOI registration and metadata management
  • Digital archiving and preservation
  • Journal website and online publishing infrastructure
  • Long-term accessibility of published articles

The APC is not a payment for manuscript acceptance and does not represent a purchase of publication rights.

Editorial Independence

Payment of the APC does not influence editorial decisions. Financial considerations are kept separate from the editorial and peer-review processes.

All manuscripts submitted to GENCARE: Journal of Community Service in Health are evaluated independently on the basis of:

  • Relevance to the journal's focus and scope
  • Scholarly and academic quality
  • Originality and value of the community service activity
  • Relevance of the health problem addressed
  • Appropriateness of the community service method or intervention
  • Community participation and empowerment
  • Quality of program evaluation and reported outcomes
  • Ethical compliance
  • Practical benefits for the target community
  • Potential sustainability or replication of the program

Acceptance decisions are made independently by the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Team based on editorial assessment and peer-review recommendations.

Payment of the APC does not guarantee acceptance, accelerated review, or publication.

Communication and Payment Procedures

All official communications concerning APC payments will be conducted through the journal's authorized editorial communication channels.

Authors are strongly advised not to make payments in response to unofficial messages, third-party requests, or communications offering guaranteed acceptance, instant publication, or publication outside the journal's official editorial procedure.

GENCARE will not be responsible for payments made to unauthorized individuals or third parties outside the official journal procedure.

Transparency of Publication Fees

GENCARE is committed to transparency regarding publication fees. Authors will be informed of the applicable APC before payment is requested, and no undisclosed publication charges will be imposed after acceptance.

This policy is intended to maintain transparency, fairness, editorial independence, and integrity throughout the publication process of GENCARE: Journal of Community Service in Health.

Article Processing Charge (APC)

GENCARE: Journal of Community Service in Health merupakan jurnal akses terbuka. Seluruh artikel yang diterbitkan oleh GENCARE dapat diakses secara bebas secara online tanpa biaya langganan maupun pembatasan paywall, sehingga pembaca di seluruh dunia dapat membaca, mengunduh, membagikan, dan menggunakan konten ilmiah sesuai dengan ketentuan lisensi akses terbuka jurnal.

Untuk mendukung keberlanjutan proses editorial dan publikasi, termasuk pemrosesan naskah, administrasi peer review, copyediting, proofreading, penyusunan layout, registrasi DOI, pengarsipan digital, pemeliharaan website, dan publikasi online, GENCARE menerapkan Article Processing Charge (APC) sebagaimana dijelaskan berikut.

Kebijakan APC

  • Penulis Indonesia: IDR 150.000 per naskah yang diterima
  • Penulis internasional (non-Indonesia): Tidak dikenakan biaya

APC dibayarkan hanya setelah naskah secara resmi dinyatakan diterima untuk dipublikasikan setelah melalui proses penilaian editorial dan peer review.

GENCARE tidak mengenakan biaya pengiriman naskah (submission fee). Penulis tidak diwajibkan melakukan pembayaran ketika mengirimkan naskah maupun selama naskah menjalani skrining editorial awal dan proses peer review.

Instruksi pembayaran akan disampaikan secara langsung kepada corresponding author melalui saluran komunikasi resmi jurnal setelah keputusan penerimaan resmi diterbitkan.

Penggunaan APC

Article Processing Charge digunakan untuk mendukung biaya operasional proses penerbitan ilmiah yang profesional dan berkelanjutan, antara lain:

  • Pengelolaan editorial dan naskah
  • Administrasi proses peer review
  • Copyediting dan proofreading
  • Penyusunan layout dan produksi artikel
  • Registrasi DOI dan pengelolaan metadata
  • Pengarsipan dan preservasi digital
  • Pemeliharaan website dan infrastruktur publikasi online
  • Menjamin aksesibilitas artikel dalam jangka panjang

APC bukan merupakan pembayaran untuk memperoleh penerimaan naskah dan tidak dapat dianggap sebagai pembelian hak publikasi.

Independensi Editorial

Pembayaran APC tidak memengaruhi keputusan editorial. Pertimbangan finansial dipisahkan dari proses editorial dan peer review.

Seluruh naskah yang dikirimkan ke GENCARE: Journal of Community Service in Health dievaluasi secara independen berdasarkan:

  • Kesesuaian dengan fokus dan ruang lingkup jurnal
  • Kualitas ilmiah dan akademik
  • Orisinalitas dan nilai kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat
  • Relevansi masalah kesehatan yang diangkat
  • Kesesuaian metode atau intervensi pengabdian
  • Keterlibatan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat
  • Kualitas evaluasi program dan hasil yang dilaporkan
  • Kepatuhan terhadap prinsip etika
  • Manfaat praktis bagi masyarakat sasaran
  • Potensi keberlanjutan atau replikasi program

Keputusan penerimaan dilakukan secara independen oleh Editor-in-Chief dan Tim Editorial berdasarkan hasil penilaian editorial dan rekomendasi peer review.

Pembayaran APC tidak menjamin penerimaan naskah, percepatan proses review, maupun publikasi.

Komunikasi dan Prosedur Pembayaran

Seluruh komunikasi resmi terkait pembayaran APC hanya dilakukan melalui saluran komunikasi resmi jurnal.

Penulis disarankan untuk tidak melakukan pembayaran berdasarkan pesan yang tidak resmi, permintaan pihak ketiga, atau pihak yang menawarkan jaminan penerimaan artikel, publikasi instan, maupun publikasi di luar prosedur editorial resmi jurnal.

GENCARE tidak bertanggung jawab atas pembayaran yang dilakukan kepada individu atau pihak ketiga yang tidak berwenang di luar prosedur resmi jurnal.

Transparansi Biaya Publikasi

GENCARE berkomitmen terhadap transparansi biaya publikasi. Penulis akan memperoleh informasi mengenai APC yang berlaku sebelum pembayaran diminta dan tidak akan dikenakan biaya publikasi tambahan yang tidak diinformasikan sebelumnya setelah artikel diterima.

Kebijakan ini bertujuan menjaga transparansi, keadilan, independensi editorial, dan integritas dalam seluruh proses publikasi GENCARE: Journal of Community Service in Health.
